![]() The game loop is terrible, and by far the lowest point of the game. It also doesn't help that enemies barely scratch you (unless you neglect armor upgrades, but some of them have mobility options attached to them) until you unlock hard mode at the end game. Everything is way too telegraphed or has too much windup, making the game mind numbingly easy. You're not invulnerable on this, and a knockback can prematurely end the move, but that rarely happens as a result of how SLOW the gameplay is. Tagging in during an attack lets you chain your attacks for better results. CJ is the fast attacker with great maneuverability Garoo is slow with relatively low DPS, but has a defense move that basically lets you play Sekiro and laugh at basically most attacks and Isha tags in, fires her stuff, and immediately tags out since she'll be useless for like 3 seconds afterwards. ![]() You have a jump button, a designated attack button for each character which also serves as their tag in button, and a button for defense. The gameplay is original, but simple, and is held back by a major flaw that makes it too easy. CJ is pretty shonen protagonist level of basic, but Garoo and Isha have more depth to them that makes them entertaining. The main party characters are better than the story, though. It comes without saying that the ending is open ended as a result of that as well, just as you'd expect. Story also is serviceable, but with the caveat that it links to a yet unreleased game, so at some point it'll just start throwing names and places you have no idea about, but will be relevant for that future game. yet by the time you reach the ending it will start shining due to it's absense. Music is good, not particularly memorable except maybe for the two town songs. ![]() Enemies are the same, with wolves' death animation being basically just flipping the sprite belly up. Graphics for all the backgrounds are insanely good and eye catching but character models have a rather lanky movement, as if their arms and torso were actually separate sprites, which makes the game looks flash game quality. fine? I mean, is playable, I have played worse, but definitely cannot recommend it over better action platformers. ![]()
